How did you get into Jazz Funk Soul, Boogie and US Soulful Garage?

   

 

 

Sneaking into see Saturday Night Fever, and wanting to be John Travolta. It was the only thing going on for someone without a penny in a small midlands town! It got me into nightclubs. I'd also loved Earth Wind and Fire.

    Rappers '81 to '84 it was just fantastic, closely followed by the Horseshoe '81, Tottenham Court Road, and the Bali Hi at the Locarno, Birmingham '79-80.    
       
                                       
    When you started clubbing and the records of the time.    
    1978. Contact, Hustlin, Get Down, Can u feel the Force,Fantasy (EWF), All n'All album. Shake your groove thang, Shame, Brick, etc.Went to a few teeny disco's before that! Music was rubbish!    
       
                                       
    What do you do to relax?    
    You can't beat swimming then having 30 minutes in a jaccuzi.    
                                       
    What did you want to be when you grew up?    
    An Accountant. Seriously!.                    
                                       
    What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?    
    Turning up at the wrong party, when I had just moved to London in 1980. I turned up at midnight. I realised I did not know anyone in advance. Only at 5am did the penny drop! I met some new people on the night however!

Hong Kong, New York and London.

Hong Kong the first place I ever went to outside of England. New York, it really does never sleep, and London, well its just brilliant - Isn't it?

    Nelson Mandela. He never stopped believing regardless of what happened to him, and he was totally tenacious, to achieve his goals.
